12/21/10 - Dick Greminger has died.  Tim, Dick's fellow Princeton classmate, has sent us this obit from the Princeton Alumni Weekly.

Dick Greminger of Leesburg, FL, died August 26, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. He graduated from Cornell University Medical College in 1965. He did his general surgery training at the Universities of Michigan and Nebraska, and his plastic surgery training at the University of Miami. He practiced in Albany, NY for 12 years before relocating to Pembroke Pines, FL in 1986, and retired as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Memorial Hospital West in 1996. Dick felt his biggest accomplishment was volunteering his talents to repairing cleft lips for children in third world countries in South America. In 2005, he and Sharon, his wife of 23 years, moved back to Leesburg, where he founded the Republican Club at Legacy and enjoyed sailing, photography, and canoeing. He was a member of Southpointe Baptist Church. He is survived by Sharon, a son, three daughters, and six grandchildren. The family requests memorial contributions to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, FL 32778. Posted 10/23/10.

12/3/10 - Thanksgiving at Bob's

Bob & Kathryn hosted diner for 18 at their Menlo Park home.  Tom & JoAnne dropped in from Pennsylvania and their daughter Jennifer, a VP at Intel in California, also joined them.  It was two days before Tom's 72nd birthday. Tom looks very distinguished with his goatee.  JoAnne contemplates the pie. Jennifer is a dreamer and doer.

Meanwhile, back on the east coast, your website editor traveled the 17 hour car-ferry-car trip to Truro, Cape Cod, where his sister also hosted a dinner for 18.  In attendance were vegans, vegetarians and various food type intolerants.  The vegetarians and vegans were served a baked soy, walnut, mushroom, onion patty. My sister made three pumpkin pies. The one for the vegans had no butter, cream, eggs or milk - essentially seasoned mashed pumpkin.  A timely cartoon in the New Yorker summarized the experience.

Subject: Reunion(2011)

Tough to plan a year in advance, so my answer would be yes, count on me to attend (
the 2011 planned multi class reunion). I hope everything is well with you .The summers go by very fast. Maybe it is age related. We are going down to our shore house in Long Beach Island this weekend. My nephew is coming in from Oklahoma this week end and will be staying for the week.

Interesting item that happened; our shore house was selected for a house tour, to raise money for the Arts foundation. It was a real success. Our home was selected #1 of the 7 homes on tour. We had over 700 people go thru our home. Tow years ago I completely renovated the home. It took over 14 months. It really came out great.

I am still working full time and enjoy doing what I do It’s a real challenge. I do not think I lost my fast ball yet .Say Hello to Bruce. Love Tom

 Thank You,  Thomas L. Aveni

06/27/20 - Judy Donahue's youngest son, Joel Wilson, has retired. When your children start to retire you know for certain that you are one of the village elders.)

(Note from Judy
) I hope being a proud mother is not illegal.  For any of you that know Joel is also the son of the late Charles Wilson, you can see that Joel indeed resembles Chuck in many ways. Joel is kind, intelligent, and so very joyful in every way. Joel's mantra is "It is always good to be me." Facebook 2010. When he was three Joel said "Fly plane."  He never veered from his dream. My heart is so full of thanks as well  the knowledge that he achieved this milestone in his life step in step with my Daughter-in -law Tamara. This may be the show and tell moment of my life but then again Joel's  only just begun. Matt and Kent (her two other sons) have a head start on him.

04/27/10 - Bruce & Abby at Alta)

Date March 1, 2010
Location: ALTA Ski Area - Utah
Photo - Bruce and Abby at the top of the Supreme Lift 10,450 ft.

Abby has developed into quite a skier. She seems to just get better every year. Alta is a great place, the last one out west with no Snowboarders. We stayed in a inn that was originally built in 1934 by the CCC*. It has expanded a bit but not too much, a little rustic but really neat. It had a few rooms with both men and women's dorms. Two meals were included since there are no restaurants at Alta. We ate together which was fun because we all got to know each other and share experiences. It was kind of like a big family, one woman (a very good skier) came to breakfast every morning in her PJ's, a down vest and ice on her bad knee. It snowed Thursday - day and night. Friday we woke up to sunshine and 19 inches of new snow. Alta is at the end of Little Cottonwood canyon which is known for is snow avalanches. Because of the snow the inns were locked down until 8 AM while they shot off cannons to bring down any imminent avalanches. Skiing that day was a real blast. What a way to end a great trip.

A beautifully kept 1969 Ford F250 Camper Special bought from an Arizona seller on eBay motors for a mere $4549.00.  Will it survive the drive back to California?  Check back in two weeks. When the editor was 41 he could make the trip without a problem in a matter of hours.
