2007 update. I am awaiting the birth of my third grandbaby, a girl. It's my daughter's first child and she is 40!!! I will be in Florida for the birth and will stay until things get settled.
Currently I am President of the Tarrytown Seniors which is 300 strong and growing by leaps... The AT&T Pioneers elected me as Vice-President of my Chapter and that keeps me very busy. The Pioneers is the largest charitable organization in the world supported by a corporation. I host a party every year for our Veterans that live at the Montrose campus which I know that many of us have seen since we lived so close.

I am also President of the Tarrytown Tenants Association and a Member of the Rent Guidelines Board of Westchester County. This keeps me busy keeping rents affordable in a very unaffordable County. Dealing with the legislatures in Albany, NY is tough but we've survived many an obstacle so far.

My Spiritual affiliation is at Christ Episcopal Church in Tarrytown and I am involved in many of their Outreach activities, one of which is My Sisters Place which is a haven for abused woman and children.

My best friend and companion, Gene Wilsea, which many met at our 40th, passed away in October, 2005. It's a huge void in my life but find that my other activities keep me very busy.

I have 2 Grandsons that are my son Gregg's and they live in Armonk...they are involved in lots of things especially soccer. I am looking forward to our 50th and have not taken to botox so what you see is the real me!!

(Editor's note.  The following update received 5/16/07 in Van's favorite color)

My granddaughter, Sabine Rivera, was born to my daughter Pamela and her husband Yaguer on February 2, 2007 (Ground Hog Day!!).  What a wonderful blessing she was and is.  She joins my two grandsons Jake and Harley and they live in Armonk, and are the boys of my son Gregg.

Pam and her family live in Naples, Florida and Yaguer is in the restaurant business.

Carol VAN Steenberg Geoghegan

1997 recap. Carol has 1 grandchild. Her significant other is Gene Wilsea, a retired policeman, who now drives a truck p/t (60 hrs/wk) to keep him out of trouble. She retired from AT&T in '95 after 25 yrs and worked for 1 yr as a check-out gal at a supermarket (for something to do with no pressure) but quit due to health problems. Presently she is working at Bed Bath and Beyond managing the bridal registry.
Carol is a member of the Tarrytown Historical Society, is active in Altar Guild at Christ Episcopal Church, is President of the Tarrytown Tenants Association, and is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Gene and Carol took a trip out West and did the coast highway from Malibu to San Francisco and over the Donner Pass to Reno. There she won some money and saw her mom ('91). They spend time every year on Marco Island, FL and she is getting used to being a grandma. The nice thing is you can always give them back.

1982 recap. Carol is happily single with 2 children, Gregg and Pamela. She received an AA at Vermont College and has been a Special Rep – Sales for NY Tel for 12 years. Carol is writing a book about her vast experience in life in collaboration with a Professor at the U of Missouri. This is not a Peyton Place type story but rather some about tragic happenings shown on the funny side. She likes gardening, her children, and indoor sports (if you know what she means).
