At the time of the 1982 reunion at Abby and Bruce's home, Susan was going through a divorce from Bob Caulfield, her susband since 1963. They were living in Milwaukee, and had two daughters, Nancy, who went off to Middlebury and Jennifer who eventually went to Hartwick and then Simmons for her Masters.

Susan and Don were married in December of 1984. They lived first in Bronxville, and then New York City. Sadly, she succumbed to breast cancer in October 1989 after a battle of more than two years.

Susan's eldest, Nancy, and her husband Paul Bottino live in Auburndale , Massachusetts with their daughters Sarah, now almost 6 and Ava, who is 3.

Jennifer Caulfield and her partner Dr. Stephanie Scott live in San Francisco with their three daughters Breckin, now almost 2, and twins Hayden and Finley, who are almost 6 months.

Until the very end, Susan maintained her enthusiasm and love for life. So much of Susan's spirit shows today through her daughters and the granddaughters she never saw. Her smile is with us all.

Good people always die too soon.
