07/01/08 - Susie's mother, Ruth, passed away on May 29, 2008.

   Succumbs at 100

   Ruth Purdy Hoyt, daughter of
Elbert C. Purdy and Elethea Hunt
Purdy of Croton Falls, Hew York,
and wife of the late Hamilton C.
Hoyt, died peacefully at St. John's
Hospital on May 29 at the age of
100.
   She was a longtime resident of
Chappaqua, New York, but moved
to Pacific Palisades in 1994 to be
closer to her daughter, Susan Hoyt
Holloway, and grandchildren
Linda and John Holloway.
   Ruth will be missed by family
and friends. In liew of flowers, the
family has asked that donations in
her name be sent to the Croton
Falls, Community Church, P.O.
Box 25, Croton Falls, NY 10519.

July 2007 update. I am still here in California keeping busy working for the Southern California Magazine Group as Advertising Manager. I have great clients and I enjoy the work so I’ll keep at it for a while.

Two volunteer activities, which I really enjoy, involve reading with kids at the elementary school level---English and Spanish speaking. It is fun and rewarding. Gardening and traveling are at the top of my list too.

In my spare time (-: I am helping Abby put on this terrific reunion for all of us. It has been so much fun to reconnect with everyone and email certainly has helped. I’ve enjoyed staying in touch with many of our classmates through the years. My parents stayed in Chappaqua until ’94 and by then I was traveling back and forth 4-5 times a year.

My big kids are in the area which is great because my Mom is near by and she will turn 100 this month - July ’07. She is in great shape and lives on her own. Daughter Lindy is with the marketing department of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and my son, John, is a lawyer with a firm here in L.A.

I hope that all of you will sign up, make your reservations, get your bio to Bill and plan to be in Chappaqua in September. Love to all….See you soon.  Love, Susie

1997 recap. Graduated Cal State U, Northridge in '92. Loves to travel, garden, visit friends and spend time with her Mom and her kids. Daughter Lindy Holloway is with the LA Philharmonic. Son John Holloway is with Brown, Windfield and Canzoneri L.A.

1982 recap. Graduated from Centenary College, NJ – attended University of Lausanne in Switzerland for 1 yr - got married - moved to California - had two children (Lindy & John) - moved to Phoenix - then back to CA - attended UCLA - taught nursery school for 5 yrs - divorced - worked for the trust department of Security Pacific National Bank - currently finishing bachelors degree at Cal State U, Northridge and working for a land development company and loving California. Gets back to Chappaqua each summer and has kept in touch with a lot of people. Likes tennis , gardening, “beaching it”, going to school and organizing class reunions. Current Job is Office Manager for Bradley Investments Rancho Sierra Development Corp, Brentwood, CA.
